Chapter 21: Program Training and Coaching (GMTSS Procedures and Conditions)

Explains the training and coaching programs carried out by the company and its leaders in accordance with applicable regulations in Indonesia.

The Market Indonesia Global Meeting, Training and Seminar System (GMTSS) provides for the development of a systematic, coordinated and comprehensive business introduction, training, motivation and support system in every location where there is Market Indonesia organizational growth. This program consists of various types of meetings, trainings, seminars, conferences and conventions. The following are guidelines when implementing GMTSS:

SECTION 1     PROSELYTIZING

Proselytizing (attempting to convert the beliefs of) prospects or UnFranchise® Owners at any GMTSS event is strictly prohibited. Complaints regarding this practice should be forwarded to Market Indonesia’s General Manager or Vice President of Sales. UnFranchise Owners who proselytize prospects and UnFranchise Owners at GMTSS events will be subject to corrective action procedures by Market Indonesia.

SECTION 2     UNFRANCHISE BUSINESS PRESENTATION (UBP)

  1. Publicly scheduled and conducted UnFranchise Business Presentations

    1. To maintain UBP status and warrant the appointment of a UBP Coordinator, an average of at least 50 UnFranchise Owners and guests must attend these meetings at least once monthly.

    2. Only Speakers Bureau members may present the “MPCP” section of the UnFranchise Business Presentation. A Certified Executive Coordinator or higher UnFranchise Level may present the “Introduction” and “Product” sections. If no Speakers Bureau member is available, the Market Indonesia General Manager must approve the speaker.

    3. The UBP Coordinator must use the most recent corporate-approved UnFranchise Business Presentation provided at id.UnFranchise.com > Resources > Supporting Materials (deleting or rearranging UBPs is prohibited).

    4. It is recommended that two (2) presenters present the UBP. If using two speakers, one should present the Introduction/Product segment, and the second should present the Marketing Plan/Close.

    5. All UBP meetings are scheduled and submitted to the GMTSS online system for each quarter within thirty (30) days prior to the start of the following calendar quarter.

  2. UnFranchise Business Presentation content and delivery

    1. UnFranchise Business Presentation overview: A professional UBP meeting should be divided into two segments.

      1. The Introduction and Product segment (20 minutes) at the end of the Partner Store section should be a brief overview of our company and products.

      2. The Performance Management Compensation Plan and Closing segment (45 minutes) begins with trends and timing.

    2. UnFranchise Business Presentation meeting outline

      1. The UBP Coordinator welcomes UnFranchise Owners and guests to the presentation.

      2. The UBP Coordinator gives a professional introduction of speaker No. 1, who will introduce the company and Market Indonesia-branded products.

      3. Speaker No. 1 gives a professional introduction of speaker No. 2, who will present the MPCP.

      4. Close with a slide from the UBP Coordinator promoting the next UBP or Local Seminar.

    3. Clothing: All presenters at the UnFranchise Business Presentation must wear business attire (suit and tie for men, suit or professional dress for women). UnFranchise Owners and guests may wear business casual clothing (no shorts or jeans permitted).

    4. Frequency: At least once per month or more, according to the growth demands of the assigned area.

    5. Ticket price

      1. If the company organizes a training event, the participants train free of charge.

      2. If an UnFranchise Owner conducts a training event, the training participants may be charged a fee to contribute to the training event's costs, and the company must approve these costs.

    6. UnFranchise Business Presentation Coordinator

      1. Initial qualifications: To become an UnFranchise Business Presentation Coordinator, one must meet the following requirements.

        1. Be a Certified Executive Coordinator or higher UnFranchise Level.

        2. Qualify as a Master UnFranchise Owner (MUFO) for at least one (1) quarter in the applicable previous four (4) quarters. Master UnFranchise Owner commissions will not count toward the requirements.

        3. Be appointed by the Local Coordinator and approved by the Market Indonesia General Manager or Vice President of Sales.

        4. Fulfill these requirements annually to extend one’s UBP Coordinator status. If a Certified Executive Coordinator or higher who meets these criteria is unavailable, the Market Indonesia General Manager will handle this on a case-by-case basis.

      2. Responsibilities: Each UBP Coordinator must carry out the following tasks.

        1. Participate as a member of the Local Leadership Team, Local Association or Leadership Council.

        2. Organize, schedule, promote and manage publicly scheduled UBPs within their local area.

        3. Submit the UBP schedule to the Local Coordinator by the meeting submission date.

        4. Attend and promote the Market Indonesia Annual Convention and Leadership School every year.

        5. Treat all sponsorship lines equally and impartially. UBP Coordinators must work with the highest code of ethics.

        6. Assist Local Coordinators in scheduling, managing and running the logistics of UBP and Local Seminar events.

        7. Prohibit audio/video recordings of UBPs unless the company has provided written approval.

        8. Ensure all UBP meetings in your respective area are conducted in accordance with approved content, policies, rules and regulations.

        9. Actively monitor the area’s UBP meetings for conflict and dispute resolution. Conflicts or problems that cannot be resolved must be reported to the Local Coordinator or Market Indonesia's General Manager. The final decision must be directed to the Vice President of Sales by the Local Coordinator/General Manager of Market Indonesia.

        10. Sign the UBP Coordinator Agreement and comply with its contents.

SECTION 3     NEW UNFRANCHISE OWNER TRAINING (NUOT)

New UnFranchise Owner Training is one of three required trainings. Before taking Executive Coordinator Certification Training (ECCT), the Basic 5 and NUOT must be completed. This training is designed to ensure that the key factors necessary for success are provided to new UnFranchise Owners.

  1. Basic 5 and New UnFranchise Owner Training Certificate: Upon successfully completing the New UnFranchise Owner Training, each UnFranchise Owner must have the instructor sign the New UnFranchise Owner Training portion of the Basic 5 and New UnFranchise Owner Training Certificate. It is recommended that both the UnFranchise Owner and instructor retain a copy of this certificate.

  2. Approved training: New UnFranchise Owner Training from the Market Indonesia Office is mandatory for all new UnFranchise Owners. After this initial training for qualification, retaking it to continue your learning is a good idea. Additional training may be provided by a Certified Executive Coordinator who has personally passed the ECCT exam. None of these trainings may be conducted in a public forum until the presenting UnFranchise Owner has achieved the UnFranchise Level and met the requirements to become a Certified Executive Coordinator, as defined by Market Indonesia. Additionally, to maintain consistency and promote duplication within the Global Meeting, Training and Seminar System (GMTSS), all NUOT presenters must use only unaltered, company-approved and provided materials available from id.UnFranchise.com > Resources > Supporting Materials. Utilizing these materials not only allows for the development of emerging leaders in the local area by ensuring that they present the New UnFranchise Owner Training information correctly but also promotes the process of duplication and standardization within the GMTSS.

The corporate-sponsored NUOT must be taken by all UnFranchise Owners (UFOs) to (i) count as being sponsored and (ii) obtain sponsorship rights for activation purposes.

If a UFO does not complete the NUOT within the “NUOT Grace Period,” the UFO’s sponsor will lose their sponsorship of this UFO. Sponsorship rights for this UFO can be reactivated after they complete NUOT at a later date. Sponsorship takes effect on the reactivation date.

New UnFranchise Owners may sponsor other new UnFranchise Owners during their “NUOT Grace Period.” This “NUOT Grace Period” will be defined as 28 calendar days from the week ending on Friday of the respective UnFranchise Owner’s “Start Date”. If the sponsoring new UnFranchise Owner does not complete the corporate-sponsored NUOT within 28 days, the sponsorship rights for activation purposes and rights to commission earned will be forfeited forever.

SECTION 4     BASIC 5 TRAINING

The Basic 5 is one of three trainings that UnFranchise Owners must attend. The Basic 5 and the New UnFranchise Owner Training must be completed before the Executive Coordinator Certification Training. This training is designed to teach the five key fundamentals that create a successful UnFranchise Business.

  1. Basic 5 and New UnFranchise Owner Training Certificate: Upon successfully completing the Basic 5 Training, each UnFranchise Owner must have an instructor sign the Basic 5 Training portion of the Basic 5 and New UnFranchise Owner Training Certificate. UnFranchise Owners and instructors must retain a copy of this certificate.

  2. Approved training: Only Certified Executive Coordinators who have personally passed the ECCT exam can conduct Basic 5 Trainings. None of these trainings can be conducted in a public forum until the UnFranchise Owner has reached the UnFranchise Level and meets the requirements set by Market Indonesia to become a Certified Executive Coordinator. Additionally, to maintain consistency and promote duplication within the Global Meeting, Training and Seminar System, all Basic 5 presenters must use only corporate-approved and provided materials available from id.UnFranchise.com > Resources > Supporting Materials. Using these materials not only enables the development of rising leaders in the local area by ensuring that they present the Basic 5 information correctly but also encourages the process of duplication and standardization within the Global Meeting, Training and Seminar System (GMTSS).

SECTION 5     EXECUTIVE COORDINATOR CERTIFICATION TRAINING

Executive Coordinator Certification Training (ECCT) is one of three trainings every UnFranchise Owner must take. To become a Certified Executive Coordinator in Market Indonesia, you must complete and pass the New UnFranchise Owner Training, Basic 5 Training and Executive Coordinator Certification Training.

  1. Prerequisites: UnFranchise Owners must have attended Basic 5 Training and New UnFranchise Owner Training. They must present their Basic 5 and New UnFranchise Owner Training Completion Certificate to take the Executive Coordinator Certification Training.

  2. Required attendance: Executive Coordinators must attend the Executive Coordinator Certification Training and pass the written exam within twenty-eight (28) days of issuance of the Executive Coordinator commission, or they will forfeit any subsequent commissions until this requirement is met and submitted to Market Indonesia by the Certified Trainer who conducted the ECCT.

For partnerships and married couples, it is recommended that everyone involved with UnFranchise Ownership attend the ECCT and pass the written test. However, only one of them is required to do so to qualify. Only qualified Certified Executive Coordinators who attended an ECCT and passed the written test are authorized to teach New UnFranchise Owner Training and Basic 5 Training.

  3. Approved training: Only authorized and active Certified Trainers can conduct Executive Coordinator Certification Training. Contact the Market Indonesia Local Coordinator to get a list of Certified Trainers for each area and location. The ECCT lasts a minimum of six hours.

SECTION 6     CERTIFIED TRAINER SCHOOL (CTS)

Certified Trainer Schools are corporate-sponsored and corporate-operated training programs conducted one to three times per year. The CTS is conducted to teach qualified UnFranchise Owners how to teach other UnFranchise Owners the key administrative elements necessary for successful participation in the MPCP. Certified Trainers are the only approved trainers permitted to conduct the ECCT, a mandatory requirement for all Executive Coordinators.

  1. Prerequisites: Market Indonesia Certified Trainer School candidates must meet all the requirements below and be approved by the Director of Field Training at Market Indonesia. These requirements are as follows:

    1. Must be a qualified Executive Coordinator based on the marketing plan.

    2. Must qualify as an Executive Coordinator based on the marketing plan for three consecutive months before taking the Certified Trainer course and then maintain Certified Trainer status every month after that (earning a commission of Rp4.5 million from one BDC every calendar month).

    3. Must have qualified or requalified in the Master UFO program either one calendar quarter of the previous year or one calendar quarter of the current year before attending Certified Trainer School.

    4. Must requalify in the Master UFO program at least two calendar quarters each year going forward.

    5. Must be a full member of the company’s UnFranchise Management System and have signed the UFMS Agreement.

    6. Must own, have read and fully understand the company’s UnFranchise Manual and know its contents well enough to reference it at any time for specific answers to questions about the marketing plan, policies and procedures, rules and regulations, administration of forms, and business-building or merchandising techniques.

    7. Attending this school does not guarantee the candidate will become a Certified Trainer. Candidates must have a knowledgeable understanding of the marketing plan, Basic 5 and UnFranchise Manual and pass the Certified Trainer exam with a score of at least 90%.

    8. Attend and complete the two- to three-day Certified Trainer School at the Market Indonesia office or location designated by the company and meet all requirements set by the school trainer or director to complete and graduate from the school successfully. This includes but is not limited to completing and submitting a comment sheet, participating in all required activities, successfully passing written and oral tests, and being certified by the school trainer or director.

    9. Maintain the ongoing requirements as determined by the Market Indonesia Certified Trainer Agreement.

  2. Reapplication: If an applicant for Certified Trainer School is accepted but decides not to attend due to personal reasons or other circumstances, then the applicant must reapply and go through the requalification process for the next school if they still wish to become a Certified Trainer.
